Doomed and dismissed, RIM has been struggling to survive among its rival - Droids and iPhones. The Canadian manufacturer in the past few months has surprised us with its offering and better still is now teasing us with its next generation OS, Blackberry 10 (We were baffled by the jump from OS 7 to 10, but then we understand, Blackberry has a lot of ground to cover too).

According to a popular Blackberry website, BlackBerry Milan may be next generation Blackberry 10 smartphone. Crackberry folks who got their hands on the BlackBerry Milan image said, "(the) image gives us a big hint as to how the traditional BlackBerry experience will evolve on BlackBerry 10. Gone is the optical trackpad, call, hang-up and menu and back buttons from the main navigation area of the phone (where the BlackBerry logo is in this image). This means we can assume a much more PlayBook like experience moving forward, even on BlackBerry 10 phones that have a full qwerty. Expect a lot of bezel gestures!"

While the specs are limited, the image reveals a full qwerty keyboard that BlackBerry lovers have grown used to. There is also some amazing rumors surrounding the display. The next generation Blackberry smartphones will apparently come equipped with a "higher pixel density than the iPhone 4's retina display."

According to BGR, "the keyboard looks a bit more narrow than what’s currently offered on RIM’s BlackBerry Torch 2 smartphone, but the touchscreen looks a big taller, too."

This is not the final product so expect some surprises along the way.

It is anybody's guess when we will see Milan in all its glory, but once thing that we are certain about is that it will definitely be a VERY popular phone among BB lovers next year.

RIM recently announced the appointment of Sunil Dutt as the new MD of BlackBerry India.
