Nokia Lumia 710 arrives in India next week

Capitalizing on the growing popularity in India, Nokia is all set to launch its first Windows phone 7 smartphone, Lumia 710 in India next week. Unveiled last month, Lumia 710 is the budget version of its high end sibling Lumia 800.

Nokia Lumia 710 comes equipped with a 3.7 inch clear black TFT LCD screen with 800 x 480-pixel resolution. Sporting 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and auto-focus,  the smartphone comes with HD video capabilities. Packed under the hood of the device is  a powerful 1.4 Ghz processor and 512 MB RAM. Priced at Rs 19,000, the device comes preloaded with Nokia Drive navigation, the Nokia Music and Mix service, plus ESPN's Sports Hub. It supports a 8GB internal storage memory which can also be expanded using a microSD card slot.

The Nokia 710 comes in stealthy back and crisp white color. The back cover of the device can also be replaced with rear cases, which are  the same colours as that of the Windows Phone tiles.

What differentiates Lumia 710 from its sibling, Lumia 800 is its built anad camera. The Nokia 710 features a overall plasticky built and does not support a Carl Zeiss camera.

Shortly following the Lumia 710, Lumia 800 will greet the Nokia fans in india and those who want to get a taste of windows phone 7. It seems that the Nokia Priority Dealers have already started taking pre-orders for Nokia Lumia 800.  You can simply pay a booking amount of Rs 1,000 ( amount varies according to geographic location) and place your pre-order for Lumia 800.

While Nokia seem to have finally found its "the product" it does stand to face strong competition from BlackBerry Curve 9360,Samsung galaxy S2, Optimus 2X, BlackBerry Bold 3 9780, Dell Venue and Micromax A85 Superefone  for Lumia 800. While the Lumia 710 will have to battle it out with Sony Ericsson Xperia active ST17i, Motorola Defy Plus, HTC ChaCha, Samsung Omnia W and HTC Radar to secure the top position.
