Published on Dec 12, 2011
The Nokia Symbian Belle was showcased on Nokia 700 and 701 smartphones, which were launched in September. Since the launch of the Nokia 700 and 701, there has been a wave of excitement among the Nokia owners of the roll out on their devices. While Nokia had earlier revealed that N8 and E7 smartphones will be joining the list for the update soon, it is now becoming clear that this update will well stretch into next year.
According to GSM Arena, Nokia has refrained from specifying exact dates "but it is generally assumed that it will be around February 2012, thanks to some of Nokia's Facebook pages." We assume that Nokia wants to iron out all issues before officially rolling out the update. Apart from Nokia N8 and E7, the other devices scheduled for receiving the update include X7, C6-01, C7, E6, and 500.
Boasting of several improvements like Android-like notifications menus, Task Switcher, scalable live widgets, six customisable home screens, access to toggle to WiFi, Bluetooth and data connection among others, Belle was seen as a respite from the predecessor Anna. It also brings NFC support for touch-sharing of apps and also transferring information between devices as well as making payment.
