LG’s new Prada 3.0 smartphone promises to bring luxury and fashion back to the tech world

Published on Dec 15, 2011

In an official announcement yesterday in London, LG officially unwrapped its latest offering, the LG Prada 3.0 smartphone.

The handset is everything rumours said it would be – and more. With a brand like Prada behind it, LG’s new phone could easily be termed as the next must-have fashion accessory.

The LG Prada 3.0 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android’s 2.3.7 Gingerbread operating system. Of course, it will most likely be upgraded to the ICS OS in time.

The phone sports a unique Prada UI and offers an internal memory of 8GB, which is expandable with a microSD card. The handset is quite slim at 8.5mm and runs on a 1540mAh battery.

The Prada 3.0 has a 4.3’-inch NOVA Plus LG TFT-LCD display which sports a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480.

It has two cameras, one rear facing and one front facing. The main rear facing 8MP camera comes equipped with auto focus and 1080p video recording capabilities at 30fps.

As far as connectivity goes, the LG Prada 3.0 offers support for WLAN, Bluetooth, NFC and HSPA +.

The phone will most likely go on sale next month, though there is no official word on its global roll out yet. The price of the handset is not known either. From the looks of it, though, it will fall in the high-end smartphone category and will be priced accordingly.

This is the third phone resulting from LG’s partnership with Prada. The 3.0 seems to be the perfect combination of technology, fashion and luxury.

If it is a success, the tech world can definitely look forward to other unique devices from the tech giant and the fashion house in the coming years.
