HTC is rumored to be pinning its hopes on HTC Elite, its next Android Ice Cream Sandwich handset

HTC is changing its production and marketing strategy for next year. Instead of launching a number of Android devices in 2012, HTC is planning to concentrate on building fewer quality products. Among others, it is apparently working to perfect a flagship model called the HTC Elite.
Sources tell BGR that the HTC Elite will run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich and compete with high end devices in the market from makers including Samsung and Apple. In fact, it will combine the best of HTC Ville and HTC Edge. The Elite will feature Beats Audio as well and will most likely be released in early April in 2012.
While no further details about the handset are known, HTC loyalists can be assured that the Elite will have a lot to offer. HTC is also rumored to be coming out with a Windows Phone handset, it’s very first.
This phone will offer support for 4G LTE and will be designed on the lines of HTC Titan, sporting a screen of 4.7’’. It will most likely be unveiled at CES 2012 in January and be available in February next year.
With a high end Windows phone and an equally good Ice Cream Sandwich device, HTC is hoping to capture a large chunk of the smartphone market in the coming year and retain it for quite some time.
If both its devices are successful, HTC can easily earn a leading position among other players of the tech world. It will be interesting to see how well HTC succeeds in 2012.
