Samsung is said to be gearing up for the unveiling of its Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone at MWC 2012.
J.K. Shin, president of Samsung’s mobile communications division has confirmed the release of a follow-up to this year’s Samsung Galaxy S2 in 2012.
According to Shin the Galaxy S3 will be a 4G-ready smartphone. Samsung sees this next evolution in mobile data as extremely important as consumers en masse around the globe demand more and more speed from networks.
The Samsung Galaxy S3, like the S2, will be a classy product and definitely a step ahead of its predecessor. The S3 will have a 4.5-inch screen and a whopping 12-megapixel camera.
The screen will be super AMOLED 3D screen and handset will feature NFC (Near Field Communication) inside it.
But the biggest aspect of the handset is its chipset – it's a quad-core set-up.
Specifications are not confirmed and so are likely to change at the showcase of the final product. But expected specs so far are 1.5GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage with a micro SD slot. The phone is likely to feature Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and TouchWiz 5 UI.
