A concept design of a Nokia Windows 8 tablet has appeared online

A concept for a Windows 8-powered Nokia tablet device has appeared online and is known as the Nokia 1.

Granted this is only a concept and Nokia has always talked-down its Windows 8 tablet aspirations. But it's still interesting all the same, especially since Nokia's CEO all-but-confirmed the company's desire to launch a tablet in 2012 late last year.

A Nokia fan, designer YrOminus gives us his take on what the Nokia tablet may look like borrowing the concept from the popular Lumia 800 model.

The tablet looks really stunning, sporting a slimmer build and monoblock design.

This concept tablet includes an 11.6-inch AMOLED screen, weighs 580 grams and is only 8.5mm thick. It comes packed with a 1280×800 screen resolution, 2-mega pixel front camera, and a 5-mega pixel camera on the back capable of 1080pixels video capture.

The device also features 2GB or RAM, a 7500 mAh battery, 32/64 GB of internal storage and an ARM processor.

Cameron McKinnon also designed another Nokia concept slate. The specifications of his tablet were a whopping 14.3inch display, a 12-mega pixel camera with Xenon flash and Carl Zeiss lens, Microsoft’s Kinect motion capture support via the front-facing camera with 64GB/128GB of storage on board and more.

With Acer and Lenovo tablets expected to be launched in Q3 of 2012 with Windows 8, late Q2 would be an indeal time for Nokia to launch its tablet.

Being first to market with a Windows 8 tablet would be a massive boon for Nokia.
