The Canadian manufacturer, RIM has decided to extend its sale on all the versions of Playbook for another week.
The overwhelming response to the "festive PlayBook offer" which saw massive price cuts to the company's 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants of the tablets has prompted the company to extend its offer.
Under the offer, the 16GB version of the 7-inch tablet, which was originally priced at Rs 27,990, is now available for Rs 13,490.
The 32-GB version, originally available for Rs 32,990, is now priced at Rs 15,990 while the 64-GB model is marked down to Rs 24,490 from Rs 37,990.
The 4-day sale started on 28th December.
The distributors indicated that they have sold over 12,000 PlayBooks across the country within four days of the offer period, which ended on December 31, 2011.
Sunil Dutt, Research In Motion Director said:
"We are pleased to see the excitement and overwhelming response to our limited festive season offer on BlackBerry PlayBook. I believe that the 16-GB and 32-GB version of the PlayBook is completely sold out in the retail channels"
