Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy Ace Plus smartphone – the successor to the 2011's popular Samsung Galaxy Ace.
Samsung has kicked off 2012 with Galaxy Ace Plus, a new addition to its successful lineup of Galaxy handsets, which includes the Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Mini,
According to JK Shin, President of IT and Mobile Communications Division at S:
'The GALAXY Ace Plus benefits from the Android Gingerbread platform and Samsung services, which provide a better mobile experience for more consumers. In 2012, we will continue to make every effort to create an easy and fun mobile experience by expanding our incredibly popular GALAXY smartphone range, which is now one of the most recognized and successful mobile brands in the world.'
Powered by a powerful 1GHz Processor, the device will be seen sporting a 3.65-inch TFT display.
Measuring 114.7 x 62.5 x 11.2 mm and weighing just 115 g, the Galaxy Ace Plus also packs in a powerful 5-megapixel camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash.
The Galaxy Ace Plus runs on Android Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface allowing users to handle tasks faster and more efficiently. There is no official word, yet, on whether an Android 4.0 update is in tow for the device.
Priced at $388 (Rs 19,400 approx), the smartphone comes preloaded with all social networking tools to keep you connected with your friends and family.
Additionally it also contains Chaton messenger and ThinkFree. The ThinkFree is a great editing tool that lets you edit office documents, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDFs while the ChatON messenger, aid in connecting all phone users across any phone platform into a single community using phone numbers instead of usernames and passwords.
This makes instant messaging, group chatting and sharing of content in multiple formats images, video, voice, contacts, calendar a breeze.
The smartphone houses a 512MB RAM and 3GB internal memory which can be expanded to 32GB using a microSD card. It also offers great connectivity options through Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth v 3.0, USB 2.0, and GPS.
Housing a descent 1300 mAh battery, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus promises to give competition to other mid-range smartphones when it arrives in the first quarter this year.
