CES 2012: Acer introduces cloud service known as AcerCloud

Acer previews AcerCloud, a copycat version of Apple's iCloud at the CES 2012

Acer kicked off CES 2012 with the official launch of its proprietary cloud service, known as AcerCloud.

AcerCloud will allow users to sync files, documents and other media content between their smart devices, PCs and tablets.

Acer has three services that it brings to the users with AcerCloud. Here is a quick snapshot:

PicStream

This service will allow users to snap pictures and back it up on their PC. Users can stream photos using clear.fi in the Cloud to PCs and other devices and later share it using other smart devices. The photos are backed up permanently on PC's but have a shelf live of 30 days on the cloud and other devices.

AcerCloud Docs

You can update all your documents on a PC. After you save them the documents get put into your personal cloud and remain accessible from any device for 30 days.

Clear.fi Media

Acer's clear.fi Media application gives users access to all their multimedia needs anytime. Using Clear.fi you can connect to the personal cloud and stream live or download content offline anytime, anywhere.

The AcerCloud will be bundled on all Acer consumer PCs starting Q2 2012 and will support all Android devices. This service will be extended to Windows-based devices in the future.
