Asus has announced its Tegra 3 and Android Ice Cream Sandwich powered 7-inch 'Prime Mini' tablet.

Priced at $249 ( Rs 12,450), the quad core and Android Ice Cream Sandwich powered Asus Prime Mini is expected to give some stiff competition to Amazon's Kindle Fire slate and Barnes and Noble's Nook tablet.

The stunning budget device will feature a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1200x800 pixels.

It is also expected to feature 1GB of RAM and have 'all the features of the Eee Pad Transformer Prime' according to Asus CEO Jerry Shen.

There is no other information on camera, battery power or processor. But going on Shen's statement it looks like Asus is readying to unleash a mini beast.

There is no word on pricing and launch date, but we can expect to see the tablet hit the market in early Q2 2012.

We hope to get you more detail on the device soon.
