ViewSonic unveiled its low-cost Android Ice Cream Sandwich-powered tablet, ViewPad E70, at CES 2012 recently.

The modestly priced tablet at $169 ( Rs 8,450), features a 7-inch capacitive  touchscreen with 800x480 pixel resolution. A 1GHz single core processor fuels this Android 4.0-powered device.

Expected to hit the shelves later this quarter, the ultra-thin and lightweight tablet offers 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, microHDMI port and ships with Amazon Appstore and Amazon Kindle app.

Folks at liliputing were disappointed by the 'low resolution display'.

They however added that what works out in ViewSonic ViewPad e70's favor is the fact that unlike 'most other budget tablets it will ship with Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.'

However with Asus announcing its Tegra 3-powered 7-inch 'Prime Mini' with Android 4.0 for $249, the changes of ViewPad E70 being a success is quite limited.

If for $80 more you can grab a mini version of the almighty Asus Transformer Prime, why would anyone settle down for anything less?
