Huawei introduces Android honeycomb operated fashionable MediaPads at CES 2012

Published on Jan 12, 2012

Huawei has introduced its new range of fashionable Android 2.3 powered MediaPads.

Available in shadow black, classic brown, and passion pink, the fashionable MediaPads will be available in selected countries in the first quarter of 2012. We don't know yet if the India launch is on the cards in the first quarter.

Powered by Android 3.2 honeycomb OS, the colorful MediaPads sport a high-quality display, with screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels at 217 PPI. The tablets also support a 1080P Full HD video playback.

Bringing a combination of style and performance, the tablets pack a powerful Qualcomm dual-core 1.2 GHz processor with a descent battery backup of upto six hours under the hood.

According to Richard Yu, Chairman, Huawei Device the vibrant MediaPad's will hit the right chord with the consumers with their 'hardware package that includes a high-quality screen, a powerful dual-core processor, and long battery life.'

He further added: 'In a tablet market defined by staid black and white tablets, the new colorful MediaPad offers a personalized look without the need for an external case.'

We were quite disappointed with the MediaPad pricing when it arrived on scene with its dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor and Android Honeycomb OS.

We hope that with its new series of MediaPad's, Huawei will be able to bring a more competitive pricing for its budget conscious Indian consumers.
