Apple’s manufacturing partners have started production of the next generation iPad

Apple seems to be readying the iPad 3 for an early March release. The company’s suppliers have started production of the tablet in a big way.

Foxconn and Pegatron are helping Apple build its next big device, the iPad 3, with Foxconn managing 85 per cent of the production.

Reportedly, the iPad 3 will look similar to the iPad 2 but will be slightly thicker than its predecessor. The new tablet is rumoured to have a bigger, better camera, quite like the one found on the iPhone 4S.

Though tight fitting iPad 2 cases will not be able to cover the iPad 3, the Smart Cover will fit the device just fine.

Macrumours came across the Japanese blog Mactakara that reported on the production status of the iPad 3.

According to sources, the accelerated schedule has been made possible due to the early occurrence of the Chinese New Year, due to fall at the end of January this year. One of Apple and Foxconn’s biggest factories is in China.

A new and improved iPad 3 is just what the company needs to get back into the limelight.

The sooner the tablet gets released, the better.
