Buyers of the Aakash 2 tablet will be able to access their booking status via email

According to DataWind’s new customer service initiative, buyers of the Ubislate 7+ will be able to know the status of their booking by sending the company an email query.
The maker of the Aaakash series of tablets has promised prompt and accurate replies to all booking questions.
Pre-orders for the Aakash 2 started some time ago and people who have booked the tablet have been running around in circles trying to find out the status of their purchase.
Due to a lack of information about the orders, DataWind has earned a bad reputation in customer service. With this new initiative, it is hoping to salvage the situation.
An official post on the company’s website reads, ‘With tens of thousands of calls daily to our call centre, we are unable to respond to all the queries we are receiving. As we work with extreme urgency to build up our response capacity, if you have difficulty in getting through to our toll-free number, please fill in the query forms on this website or email us at supportin@datawind.com and we will revert back to you at the earliest.’
This development is a relief to all those tablet enthusiasts keen to buy the Ubislate 7+.
A revamped version of the original Aakash tablet, this device is powered by a 700MHz processor and runs on the Android 2.3 operating system. It is retailing for Rs. 2,999/- and though it is out of stock till next month, it should be available by the end of February.
