Nokia Belle update to roll out in Feb, not next week

Nokia comfirmed via Twitter that Symbian Belle will be released next week.

It read: ‘Nokia Belle will be on the way from next week’ and went on to give a link to more details about the release.

At least that was the case for a while, until Nokia realised that it had made a mistake and issued a new statement, confirming the release of the update in February.

The statement said, ‘Hi, I’m correcting the sw update info tweeted to you yesterday. Update comes available starting from Feb. Sorry about wrong info!’ 

The thread of tweets from Nokia, that GSMarena got its hands on, had started from a query a user had sent the company, seeking details about the Belle update release.

Nokia had been talking about a February release for some time.  

A number of Nokia users are looking forward to the Belle update that is scheduled for a range of Nokia phones, including the N8, E7, E6, X7, C6-01, C7, Nokia 500 and Nokia Oro. In fact, new models of the Nokia N8, C7 and C6-01 will come pre-installed with the Belle update. 

The Belle update is expected to add some great new features to Nokia phones. Experts are hoping that it will go a long way in helping the company win back some of its past glory.
