Microsoft is rumoured to give Tango a facelift with redesigned Tiles and media controls

Published on Jan 20, 2012

Rumour has it that Microsoft’s next Windows Phone update, known as Tango, will be user friendly and convenient to maneuver with its reshaped media controls and Live Tiles.

Tango is set in release in the next few months and Microsoft loyalists are waiting for something big from it, especially after the success of the Mango OS.

Experts believe that Tango will work even more smoothly and flawlessly than its predecessors.

Two big changes that Tango is speculated to carry are the redesigning of its media controls and the reorganization of its Live Tiles. Both these changes will be welcomed by WP users since they have been complaining about the amount of space that the media controls take up on screen.

The media controls on Tango are expected to be made smaller so that they take up only a little space on the screen. In fact, it is believed that they will appear like a notification on the top of the screen.

Apparently, users of Tango will also be able to create ‘folders’ on the home screens of their devices and sort Live Tiles into these for easy access and use.

A folder, then, would most likely show a consolidated list of notifications from all the Tiles that it holds instead of individual Tiles flashing a number of notifications all at once. This will ensure a tidy, clutter-free screen.

According to My Microsoft Life, these tips have come from a reliable source and will most likely hold true. If they do, Microsoft will indeed have a winner on its hands with Tango.
