Bengaluru based tablet manufacturer, Notion Ink has announced its partnership with Texas Instruments for the Adam II tablet.

Adam II will be powered by Texas Instrument’s OMAP 44xx and will include various TI components like Wi-Link 7.0 and Phoenix Audio Power Amplifiers.

The partnership aims to give the tablet a competitive edge in the market.

The reason for switching from Nvidia processor was detailed by Rohan Shravan, CEO of Notion Ink, on the company's official blog.

Sharvan said:

‘The OMAP44xx platform’s smart multicore architecture pairs its main CPUs with several differentiated features including programmable accelerators, hardware composition engines and a dedicated ISP. Imagination Technologies’ super-fast PowerVR SGX5xx GPU and enhanced memory architecture add still more functionality while an OMAP-specific distributed composition architecture enables advanced image and video layering for crisp, HD visuals.'

'These elements and more are the force behind the OMAP44xx processor’s ability to enable fast and fluid multitasking while maintaining ultra-low power consumption.'

The tablet will be also be powered by Ice Cream Sandwich. As it squeezes in “Modular Based Software Architecture” it will allow users to customize almost everything. Like they can tweak hardware settings and create their own apps.

All this highlights that Adam II has been planned with better performance results and multi-tasking features for enhanced user experience.

So far, no information regarding the price and launch of the tablet have been revealed.
