Nokia Lumia 910 coming in May?

The word around the internet is that Nokia is readying a new handset for release around the same time that its latest device, the Lumia 900, is set to launch in Europe. This new device supposedly continues the series and is named Lumia 910.

News about Nokia’s plans spread with a tweet that smartphone enthusiast and blogger Eldar Murtazin sent out. Murtazin has a track record of sourcing out tech news before it breaks and he may be right this time around as well.

According to the tweet, the Lumia 910 will appear in Europe sometime in May. Though not much was revealed about the device, it is speculated to have a powerful 12MP camera. Unfortunately though, it is not expected to offer LTE support.

Engadget noted that the timeline of the release of the rumoured Lumia 910 coincides with the launch of the Lumia 900 in Europe.

Experts have been left wondering what Nokia has up its sleeves if the rumours are indeed correct. The question is, how similar and competitive will the 2 handsets be? Hopefully, with the MWC just around the corner, more questions about the Lumia 910 will be answered.

Currently, Nokia’s partnership with Microsoft seems to be paying off. With the success of the Windows Phone Mango OS behind it, Nokia is looking at broadening its horizons and capturing a big chunk of the smartphone market.

There are a number of users who still swear by Nokia’s hardware and Microsoft’s Windows platform and if Nokia is able to build smart, durable handsets with a user-friendly OS, there’s no stopping its success.
