LG rolls out Android Gingerbread update for Optimus Black in India

LG has rolled out Android 2.3.4 version for LG Optimus Black.

Available to the LG Optimus Black users in India and Europe, the latest Android Gingerbread update brings some major improvements to the device.

According to AndroidOS.in, LG has listed the change log that the new update will bring. Some of them are as follows:

•     Improved power management

•     Enhanced mobile gaming experience

•     Improved UI to enable faster access and control and a more intuitive user experience

•     One-touch word selection and copy/paste:

•     Better Download management

•     Support for new media formats such as AAC, AVC, MPEG 4 and H.263

•     New features and other improvements: active app management, shortcuts, widgets, icons, app groups, updated calendar options, camera geotagging, better email syncing and more precise camera auto-focus. App updates and pre-loaded Google+ app

In November 2011, LG also announced that the Optimus series will be the first to receive the Android 4.0 update. The list includes Optimus Black, Optimus 2X, Optimus 3D and Optimus LTE.

Launched in June 2011, LG Optimus Black sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 480x800 pixel resolution. Priced under Rs 19,000, the device comes equipped with a 5 mega-pixel camera with autofocus and LED flash and a secondary front-facing 2 mega-pixel camera.

On the hardware front, the device houses a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and  512MB of RAM. It comes with a 2GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 32GB using a MicroSD card.

Good connectivity options through GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, DLNA and strong 1500mAh Li-Ion battery made LG Optimus Black a popular pick among the Indian consumers.
