Huawei plans to introduce 'Diamond' series of high-end smartphones next month.
In an interview with TWICE website, Huawei chairman, Richard Yu confirmed that the company will be unveiling its 'Diamond' series smartphones at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.
According to The Verge, Yu further told the website that in terms of performance the Diamond series of smartphones 'will exceed even that of the Ascend P1 S'.
At CES 2012, Huawei unveiled its flagship smartphone Huawei Ascend P1 S. The jaw-dropping beauty toppled Motorola Razr to bag the title of world’s thinnest smartphone.
The slim beauty featured a beautiful 4.3-inch super AMOLED screen with 960x540 pixels resolution. Powered by the Android Ice Cream Sandwich, this Huawei smartphone packed in a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortex-A9 processor, 8-megapixel camera and a powerful 1670 mAh battery.
Going by Yu's statement we expect to see the new devices pack in a more powerful processor- maybe even quad core (like Galaxy S III), a bumped up camera and memory. On the aesthetic front, we were quite happy with the design of Ascend P1 S - hopefully Huawei will maintain that.
As of know other specs details are under wraps, but we are sure more information will emerge as we approach MWC.
