Microsoft has a number of apps on offer that make the WP Mango an OS to reckon with. We give you a fun down of its top 10 free apps.

1. Spotify: On a phone like the Lumia 800, with its powerful speakers, this is a great app to have. Users can search for music by genre or artists and can set up their own playlists. Music can be streamed or downloaded on Spotify and the app has thousands and thousands of tracks to choose from.

2. Sticky Tiles: This app works like a sticky note put up on the start screen. It is simple and easy to use and allows users to list out reminders briefly. For reminders of tasks that need immediate attention, like paying a bill, Sticky Tiles is a very useful app.

3. Evernote: This app is designed to make life a little easier. With Evernote, users can pin specific notes, tags and searches on the start screen and save time and effort. Users can even choose from audio notes, text notes or image notes. There is also a Wi-Fi background sync available for the user’s notes.

4. SuperTimer: If you are always running out of time or lose track of time while reading emails, updating social networking sites or playing games, SuperTimer can help keep you on track. It has 3 timers than can run in the background and remind you when the time allotted to a particular task is up.

5. Tango Chat: If you want to hold video calls with friends and family across platforms, this is good app to use. Both the quality of the audio and the video are good, and the app automatically adds people on your phone list who have the app to your Tango contact list.

6. Toggle: If you want all your short cuts in one place, get Toggle. It lets users turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on and off from the start screen and lets them shift to flight mode and turn off all active connections in one go. Users can also choose their own icons for the app.

7. EasyRing: If you are bored of the same old ringtones on your Windows Phone handset, go in for  EasyRing. This app lets users find free ringtones online and save them on to the phone to use later. Though a more comprehensive version of this app isn’t free, the simpler version itself has quite a few options to choose from.

8. Seesmic: This app makes the traditional Twitter experience better as users can pin live tiles for direct messages and replies. Seesmic also makes sure that if a user switches to another app, he doesn’t lose track of where he was in the stream of tweets when he left. Reading lists and quoting tweets is also easier with Seesmic.

9. Reading Glasses: This is an app with a difference. With Reading Glasses, users can magnify any print that they are reading, anywhere. All they need to do is point the phone’s camera to the print and the app magnifies the letters.

10. Facebook: Microsoft has been able to integrate Facebook on Windows Phone Mango well. With the official Facebook app, the Messages section can be pinned as a live tile and Places can be pinned as well, keeping you in the know of who is where, doing what, at all times.
