The much anticipated Sony LT22i Nypon will launch as Xperia P.
According to a leak, the handset will hit stores in April.
On the Indonesian equivalent of the American FCC, GSMarena came across Sony LT22i Nypon’s retail name.
According to the site, the phone will be launched under the name Xperia P. In fact, the site has clearly classified the handset as ‘Sony Ericsson Xperia P LT22i’.
Sony’s new device looks a lot like the Xperia S but given its specs, is probably a mid-range device. It is powered by a NovaThor U8500 chipset / 1GHz processor and has a qHD display. Even its camera is not as powerful as the one on the Xperia S.
The handset is set for an April release and will most likely retail at 370 Euros (Rs 24,000 approx).
Though not too many details are known about the Xperia P, Sony’s fans won’t have to wait too long; the phone will most likely appear at the Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona.
Sony, on its part, is working hard to build its name as a key player in the smartphone market and the Xperia P might just be the device that gives it the helping hand that it needs.
