A leaked document doing the rounds on the internet has confirmed that two new Samsung tablets, codenamed P3100 and P5100, have been certified for Wi-Fi.
The tech market is abuzz with speculation that the two devices will launch at MWC in Barcelona this month.
Though not much is known about the two tablets, rumour has it that they might run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
Experts also believe that one of the two is a full blown, high-end tablet and the other is a mid-range entertainment device like the Amazon Kindle Fire.
The former is also believed to be powered by a 2GHz processor and to sport an 11.6-inch display.
The high end tablet expected from Samsung is likely to sport a Retina Display with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels. On the other hand, the Kindle Fire-like device most feature a resolution of 1024x600 pixels.
According to Androinica, who got their hands on the leak from Ameblo.jp, the Wi-Fi certification document looks genuine.
It further points out that the codenames of the new devices fall in loop with codenames Samsung has used in the past for its devices.
Since Samsung hasn’t released a tablet in a while, it will be interesting to see what it has on offer now, especially with the soaring popularity of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
Hopefully, as expected, it will go ahead and release its new and improved devices at the Mobile World Congress this month.
