LG will launch its triple-sim handset in the market this month. The triple-sim segment is a potential but yet undeveloped market and LG hopes to capture it with its latest handset.
The new offering from LG is called LG A290 and is quite compact in size with dimensions of 113.5x51x12.95mm. Powered by a 1500mAh battery it features a 2.2-inch display with a resolution of 176x220 pixels.
It also comes with a 1.3-mega pixel camera and a built-in flashlight. It is yet unknown however, if the phone is capable of running on all 3-Sim cards simultaneously.
The LG A290 will begin retailing at a reasonable price of 75 Euros, approx. Rs. 5,000.
GSMarena came across the LG A290 release details from its source on a Russian technology website.
Since not too many facts are known about the phones distribution, it is not certain if and when it will hit global markets. If it follows the success of dual-Sim handsets, it might just make its way to emerging markets like India and China.
LG is known for experimenting with its mobile phones and trying to introduce something new into the market. A triple-Sim phone might just be the key to its next success, given that it is likely to find a following among businessmen and travelers.
If LG does start offering the A290 globally, it might just be able to popularize the triple-Sim handset as the next must-have low-range device.
