LG Optimus Vu gets detailed online.
LG has been very silent in the background while companies like Samsung, Nokia, HTC, Sony Ericsson (or just Sony) have been quite active in the field.
But today, LG released a teaser of the Optimus Vu which is a new 5-inch monster by the company.
There isn't much info available besides the display and the rather unique aspect ratio of the device, but it seems like the handset would sport the Android operating system, which is good news for all the droid fans out there.
There are rumors circulating that the Optimus Vu will be packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5 GHz dual core chipset, 8MP camera, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage as with most LG devices.
We're still not sure if LG will launch the device outside of Korea, but for now it seems like a Korea exclusive.
Since smartphone displays are fast evolving, we get to see smartphones with unique screen sizes. The Optimus Vu however, with an aspect ratio of 4:3 is slightly different since it gives the handset slightly more screen real estate compared to other 5 inch displays in the market.
It is believed that this phone will feature LG's 720p display (1024x768 pixels). All we have for now is a leaked slide and a teaser video of the handset but we expect LG to shed more light on the specs soon.
We hope that LG launches the Optimus Vu or a revamped version of the Vu for the rest of the world.
