Apple iPad 3 will be unveiled in the first week of March. Atleast that's what the latest rumors indicate.
The high-anticipated tablet third next-generation tablet is expected to be launched at a private Apple event in San Francisco next month.
The news which comes via All Things D also reaffirms some of the rumored specification of iPad 3.
According to the site the device will bear resemblance to iPad 2 in form factor but will be 'running a much faster chip, sporting an improved graphics processing unit.'
The earlier rumors of the new retina display supporting a display resolution of 2048x1536 have also been confirmed.
The only piece of disappointing news that we have heard so far is probably about the quad core processor.
Apparently Apple iPad 3 may not come equipped with a A6 quad core processor as was earlier believed. However we hear that the GPU in A6 is powerful too, which is definitely a saving grace.
While there is no word yet on the exact date of launch, the device is expected to hit the shelves soon after the launch - probably by the second or third week of March itself.
The year 2011 was the year of the iPad 2 and if the hype and the impressive specs of iPad 3 are anything to go by, the year 2012 looks like will be another year of Apple's domination.
