Android Ice Cream Sandwich update may arrive on popular Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone on March 1

Google's Android 4.0 update might be rolled out to the Samsung Galaxy S2 as early as March 1.

Last year in November, Samsung had announced that the immensely popular Galaxy S2 will be receiving the Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update soon.

While the Korean company refrained from giving any specific date for the roll-out an industry blogger has pegged the roll-out to happen next month, specifically on March 1.

Analyst Eldar Murtazin tweeted his prediction stating that the ‘official' Android 4.0 launch date from Samsung will be March 1. He also noted that updates will be dependent on your country and operator.

The announcement is in sync with Samsung's promise to bring the update to the Galaxy S2 by the first quarter of this year.

Even though Murtazin hasn't indicated so in his predictions, his March 1 timeline does sit perfectly well with the Barcelona-based expo that will be held from 27 February to March 1.

The update brings in a host of exciting features including re-sizable widgets, user friendly notifications, enhanced media and social networking to the devices.
