More details on HTC's quad core offering, the HTC Endeavour, which was also known as the HTC Edge have emerged online.

The Android powerhouse is expected to run on the powerful Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. A vibrant  4.7-inch screen with 720p display (312ppi), 1GB of RAM and a Tegra 3 quad-core chip at its core.

The LTE based smartphone also features an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The world’s first quad-core smartphone is expected to be launched by the Taiwanese giant on February 26 – a day ahead of the Mobile World Congress.

Recently a leaked HTC Endeavour ROM posted on XDA Developers confirmed the presence of Sense 4.0 and 720p resolution screen.

With powerful specifications like that, it is no surprise that the device is one of the highly anticipated smartphone of this year.

Earlier we had reported that a JPMorgan Chase analyst had stated that HTC is likely to maintain a lead against its competitors 'if it unveils its Tegra 3 smartphones  in February and ships the models in April.' This could give HTC a chance to gain foothold in the market, before other companies unleash their quad-core beasts.

Apart from HTC Endeavour, the HTC Ville is another smartphone that has appeared on and off couple of times last month. While we have heard rumors that HTC has more than one quad-core device for MWC 2012, we haven't had  any confirmation on it so far.

We guess we will have to wait for the curtains to raise, to get more news on that front.
