Reports indicate that Nokia is looking to launch three new smartphones accompanied by three feature phones at the MWC 2012 in Barcelona later this month. While this seems very interesting, there is little information as to which devices will be unveiled. But I guess that builds the surprise even more.
With almost every major mobile maker touted to reveal a bunch of handsets at the annual mobile convention, it was almost obvious that Nokia wouldn't want to miss out on the opportunity in hand.
GSM Arena mentions that Nokia could be launching a global version of the Lumia 900 as we previously reported as well as the Lumia 610 which could be a mid range Windows Phone device like the Lumia 710 and the Nokia 808, the highly anticipated N8 successor.
This particular handset is said to feature a brilliant camera like the N8 did, so the hopes are generally high. Remember, these are mere speculations and Nokia could surprise us all with an unexpected smartphone. And it's a fact that feature phones still have a huge market in developing countries.
So a mix of feature phones and smartphones could prove to be a great one for Nokia with the company still having a strong market share in some Asian and European countries. So in two weeks' time, we'll have stumbled over a variety of smartphones from major brands like Samsung, HTC and Nokia among others.
Update: Newer reports point out that the three feature phones that are said to break cover at the MWC belong to the Asha series (Symbian S40).
