Google Plus for iOS

Published on Feb 15, 2012

The Google Plus for iOS app was rather neglected in the past for obvious reasons. But today Google has launched an update for the application which gets it on par with Android and to an extent the web version of the social network.

The updated version of the app now supports instant upload which was one of the cool features of Google Plus. I personally didn't think the feature would make way to iOS device anytime soon, but the guys at Google have proven me wrong. So basically, you can pick or opt out of instant upload after you open the app post the update.

It seems like a great way to get pictures online, especially with Google's Picasa integration which gets all the pictures at your fingertips. But unlike Android devices, the user has to manually open the G+ app for Instant Upload to be possible.

Once the app is opened, all the images taken post the last time it was closed will be uploaded. Instant Upload however, is not the only feature that is introduced with the update.

New tabs like "what's hot" have been added which shows us all the top posts from around the world. Try out the new and improved Google Plus app on your iPhone/iPod Touch or iPad today. The update really makes using Google Plus a pleasurable experience.
