Android's Utter takes the fight to Apple's Siri

The newest Android voice app, Utter promises a new level of interactivity and functionality to the Android smartphone users.
In the past we have seen the Android voice apps Evi, Majel, Cluzee and Iris wage war on Apple's leading lady Siri. But all in vain. It almost feels like the same story every time a new Android app surfaces claiming to be the best. But this time round it looks like we might finally have a winner.
Utter can perform a diverse set of tasks from adding a calendar appointment, to grabbing information on weather, music events and launching social networking apps among others.
The speech-to-text app is intelligent, fast and highly responsive. In the 22 minutes video (below) XDA developer Brandall uses the Utter voice app to perform several tasks including setting his CPU.
According to Android Police, 'one of the highlights of the video is when he asks Utter what it thinks of Siri for iOS. Its response? "The b***** has a very limited vocabulary. It even has a sense of humor!'
It added: 'On another impressive note, he tells Utter to create an email, verifies the subject, and tells it what to populate the body with. It executes the commands quickly and efficiently, leaving only the sending of the message to be done manually.'
The app is still in its beta stage, but not to worry we will send you a shout out when it arrives in the market packing in all the necessary ammunition!
