With the MWC fast approaching, we take a look at the devices that are rumored to break cover during the course of the event

We already know a lot about the device launches slated to happen at the MWC. Since MWC is host to the year's most awaited smartphones and tablets, there is bound to be a lot of excitement and eagerness among the fans.
Last year, devices like the Samsung Galaxy S II, the LG Optimus 3D and the HTC Sensation etc broke cover during the event. And this year we have some other big guys lining up their devices for launch. Well, Samsung has officially announced that there will be no press conference from the company, but this doesn't rule out device launches. HTC on the other hand has a press conference scheduled.
So which are the devices that could make an impact in the market?
1) HTC Endeavor a.k.a OneX: This HTC smartphone is easily one of the highly anticipated announcements of the event. The HTC OneX will be the world's first smartphone with a quad core mobile CPU. This smartphone has been known by a few different names in the past (Edge, Endeavor etc). But we're sticking with OneX since it got christened with this new branding. This along with the HTC OneS (HTC Ville) is said to be breaking cover at an HTC press event prior to the start of MWC. The OneX is believed to pack a 4.7 inch display with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board.
2) Nokia Lumia 900 (Global Version): The announcement of the Lumia 900 hasn't been confirmed by any means, but we're excited. Experts are still a tad skeptical about the handset, but with some of the European retailers already listing the handset as coming soon, we have no choice but to have a little faith in it. The handset which was said to be an AT&T exclusive in the U.S features a 4.3 inch AMOLED display with 16GB of storage and an 8MP camera.
3) Galaxy Note 10.1: Well, this new tablet made it to the news yesterday after Samsung accidentally mentioned the device in a developer invite. The prospects of the tablet look very bright, and add the S Pen and other Galaxy Note apps, and you have a killer combination. The tablet is almost a sure thing at the event since Samsung mentioned the device on two different occasions. Since Android tablets are still steadily catching up with the tablet market (which is led by the iPad), the Galaxy Note 10.1 could be something that we all have been waiting for.
4) LG X3: LG is right back in the game with the new X3. Well, the leaked benchmark scores of the LG X3 suggest that a new beast is about to break cover. And reports suggest that this smartphone is to be revealed at the Mobile World Congress later this month. This along with the HTC OneX is slated to be among the first quad core smartphones in the world. With a benchmark score of 4412, the LG X3 promises some thrills for the users. And like the HTC OneX, the LG X3 also packs a 4.7 inch display but with HD resolution. So basically the two handsets are very identical, but I suppose HTC has the ‘Edge' here (pun intended).
5) Nokia 808: This one's for the Symbian fans. Well, the Nokia N8 has been a lone warrior ever since it was launched. And if rumors are to be believed, the Nokia 808 will be last and final Symbian device from Nokia putting an end to the Symbian era. This is also said to be the N8's successor which is interesting since we've been waiting for a cameraphone like the N8 for a while now. This along with the Lumia 900 and the Lumia 610 is said to break cover at MWC.
6) LG Optimus 3D 2: LG's Optimus 3D was introduced at the MWC last year and it received widespread attention. Though it didn't make a mark on the market as LG would have wanted it to, there were a few positives taken from the smartphone. And this successor to the Optimus 3D is now being rumored to be announced at the MWC. It's hard to say if the handset will catch up after failed attempts by HTC (EVO 3D) and LG in the past, but we guess the company has something figured out. Before that happens, LG needs to get its update roll out schedule in order so as to win back the fans' faith.
7) Huawei MediaPad 10: The Huawei MediaPad is one of the few tablets that we're expecting to see at the MWC. Huawei is synonymous with low cost smartphones that have a lot to offer and similarly we can expect the MediaPad 10 to continue the same trend. Sadly though, there's very little information about the device. We know for sure though that the tablet features a 10 inch display and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Expect this 10.1 inch tablet to win a lot of hearts at the MWC.
So these are the smartphones that we're looking forward to. We might have missed out on a few since the list is just too big to be written in one post. Keep your eye out for more on the MWC announcements.
