LG formally announced the Optimus Vu and the Optimus LTE Tag yesterday.
The Galaxy Note finally has a competitor in the form of the Optimus Vu which features very similar specifications to it. However, with the Galaxy Note well established in the market, it will take a few more of such devices to make an impact on Samsung's sales. But either way, it's good to have two of the kind.
The Optimus Vu comes with a 5 inch HD display with a resolution of 1024x768 pixels. There's an 8MP camera on board with a 1.3MP front facing camera, 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM with 32GB of onboard storage which can be expanded with a microSD card. The Optimus Vu will be seen running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The Optimus LTE Tag is the company's upgraded version of the Optimus LTE which hasn't seen the wider market yet. The Optimus LTE Tag features the ability to read LG Tag+ Stickers.
Reading LG Tag+ Stickers is possible thanks to the NFC chip inside the device. Scanning the LG Tag+ stickers will basically put the device in a preset mode like Airplane or Silent if the user wants it to be that way.
The hardware of the Optimus LTE Tag is pretty slick too with the device featuring a 4.3 inch display, 5MP primary camera, 1.2 GHz dual core processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 16GB of built in storage etc.
We'll learn more about the new Tag+ feature as well as the two handsets during the course of the MWC.
