Sony Xperia U a.k.a Kumquat poses alongside Xperia S

We have heard quite a lot about the Sony Ericsson Kumquat, and now we have it leaked under a different name.
Compared side by side with the Xperia S, the Xperia U looks strikingly similar to its older sibling. The Xperia U or the Sony ST25i will be targeted towards the mid range segment.
The smartphone features a relatively smaller 3.5 inch display with FWVGA resolution (480x854), a 5MP camera sensor and a front facing camera, as well as a 1GHz dual core processor and other Sony specific features.
There's no word on the operating system of the device yet, but we figure it would come out of the box with Android 2.3 Gingerbread with an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich like the rest of the Sony's recent smartphones (including the Xperia S).
The Sony Xperia U is believed to be showcased at MWC, along with other biggies. It is yet to be seen if Sony will unveil another major smartphone to accompany the Xperia S in global markets.
