We tell you everything there is to know about Samsung’s new Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2 handsets

Published on Feb 21, 2012

Samsung has recently two new smartphones in its Galaxy line. Taking off where their predecessors left off, the Ace 2 and the Mini 2 have something for everyone.

The Galaxy Ace 2 is powered by an 800MHz processor and runs on Android’s gingerbread OS, supported by TouchWiz 4.0. It offers 768MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The phone is light at 122 gm but slightly thicker than its peers.

This 3.8-inch handset is equipped with a WVGA screen and offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. Samsung’s new offering ships with a 5MP rear facing camera that is capable of recording HD video at 720p.

The 10.5mm Galaxy Mini 2 is powered by an 800MHz processor as well. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and TouchWiz 4.0 and sports 512MB of RAM. It has an internal storage capacity of 4GB and offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC radio.

The Mini 2 comes with a 3.27-inch HVGA display and a 3MP rear facing camera. Like the Galaxy Ace 2, the memory of the Galaxy Mini 2 is expandable with a MicroSD card.

Samsung has seen success at the hands of its Galaxy Ace and Galaxy Mini handsets and is hoping to replicate the same with its new, upgraded devices. Both of Samsung’s new offerings are entry to mid range devices that will appeal to those looking to shift from feature phones to smartphones and to those who prefer using simple, easy-to-use smartphones.

Both the Galaxy Ace 2 and the Galaxy Mini 2 should be priced competitively and should be available in the retail market in the coming months.
