LG has announced its next-generation 3D smartphone.
Dubbed LG Optimus 3D Max, the smartphone will be showcased at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Spain.
Priced at a whopping $753 ( Rs 37,650), the successor to the LG Optimus 3D, will be first unveiled in South Korea. The company has so far not divulged any details on the international roll-out so far.
So what makes LG Optimus 3D Max special?
Form Factor
The device sports a massive 4.3-inch IPS display bringing in both sharpness and brightness. Apart from the awesome features the smartphone has worked on its looks as well. We see that this time around the device has dropped a few pounds to get a more slim fit at 126.8x67.4x9.6 mm. Weighing just 148g, the Optimus 3D Max is at present the thinnest and lightest 3D mobile phone available.
The device also sports a 5-megapixel camera and 16GB internal storage.
LG Tag Plus
The NFC-enabled device comes equipped with a LG Tag Plus (Tag +) stickers. These tags come in handy as they automatically configure the setting of the device.
According to GSM arena these tags will perform customizable actions like 'launch the SatNav app when it sees the car tag, turn on the Wi-Fi in your office, set up tomorrow's alarm when you put it on the nightstand and so on.' Also users will be getting a bunch of LG Tags Plus with pre-defined and blank tags to customize tags according to their preferences.
Complete 3D suite
The LG Optimus 3D Max comes equipped with a complete 3D video editing software and a 3D mapping application onboard. The smartphone users can enjoy games in 3D, and general imaging and specific applications, such as Naver Map to convert to 3D. Also LG Electronics' LG Smart World, a 3D-only applications will provide 60 kinds of video content starting in the second quarter.
Processor
Packed under the hood of the smartphone is a dual-core 1.2GHz processor which makes multitasking a breeze. You can play games, watch videos and work on multiple apps uninterrupted.
Operating System
The 3D smartphone is powered by Android 2.3 Operating System just like its successor. While no Android 4.0 update framework has been provided, we are positive that LG will not deprive Optimus 3D Max for a Ice Cream Sandwich for long.
Update: The international version of LG Optimus 3D Cube, will be called LG 3D Max. The device will be rolled out to Europe and Asia starting next month.
