This new chipset beats all the existing dual core chipsets in the market

We know how NVIDIA is already out in the open with its Tegra 3 chipset. And HTC will be showing off the One X running on the Tegra 3 before the start of the MWC. And the general opinion was that Qualcomm, which is another major chip maker, would also show us some quad core goodness.
But the company has finally made it official that there will be no quad core smartphones running on Qualcomm's silicon shown off at the event. Qualcomm's Vice President of Product Management, Raj Talluri gave out this information yesterday.
Though there will be no phones with Qualcomm's quad core silicon on board, Talluri mentioned that the company might actually show off something better. Well, Qualcomm will display its MSM8960 chipset which is evidently one of the fastest and efficient chipsets out there, benchmark results second that.
This new chipset stands up tall against its competition. There's however no comparison being made with NVIDIA's Tegra 3 chipset. The MSM8960 which is also known as Qualcomm S4 will make way to smartphones from Q2 or Q3. It's a pity that Qualcomm isn't ready with quad core chipsets yet, but Talluri didn't rule out the demo of quad core concept phones.
Each core on this new S4 chipset will be clocked at 1.5 GHz and we're talking about the unit which is believed to be shown off at MWC. And this new chipset will actually make LTE phones battery efficient. So something good is coming out from Qualcomm after all.
