Sources suggest that the Nokia Carla update will be provided to the rest of the Symbian lineup by the end of 2012

Nokia's Carla and Donna OS were revealed to be the newest iterations of the Symbian operating system. Touted to be the successor of the Anna and the Belle update, very little was known about Carla.
And now, we have learnt that the OS could make way to existing as well as new Nokia devices by the end of this year. If reports coming from trusted sources are to be believed, the Nokia Carla OS could break cover with new smartphones in Q3 of this year while the existing crop of Belle, Anna, Symbian^3 smartphones could get the update by the end of this year.
It's good news that Nokia will still support older smartphones like the N8 and others, but there arises a question about the performance. Newer Belle smartphones come with capable processors (not GPUs though), so they're capable of running the latest operating systems.
So it is believed that Nokia will roll out a slightly different version of the update to older smartphones, which makes sense. So come late 2012 and we will have a bunch of Nokia Carla smartphones lined up for launch. And contrary to the past rumors, the N8 successor will not be the last Symbian phone. Apparently, there will be at least two more smartphones apart from the N8 successor which is all set to break cover at MWC.
