Published on Feb 25, 2010
The company aims to make Samsung Wave (S8500) phone available in 50 countries by May, anticipating that their bada phone will go off the shelves in huge volumes.
"Bada has the potential to deliver huge volumes straight away because Samsung is now the world's number two handset maker," said Dr. Justin Hong, vice president of Samsung Mobile.
"We want to push feature phones into the mass market, and get feature phone users into smartphones."
Samsung is also set to publicly release the SDK - its bada software developer kit available to its partners - by March and plans to add about 1000 bada apps by end of year 2010.
Samsung earlier unveiled its first bada device, Samsung Wave, at MWC which is slated for an expected launch in April this year. (via: totaltele.com)
