Sony Ericsson introduces Spiro and Zylo Walkman phones

Sony Ericsson's Walkman series devices are back with the launch of two new 'next generation' Walkman phones Spiro and Zylo

Sony Ericsson Zylo and Spiro come equipped with social networking features with built-in access to Facebook and Twitter. Both these Sony Walkman phones offer TrackID music recognition service. With  TrackID music recognition tool, users can find out all the details about songs by simply recording a sample of the unknown track. The company claims that there had been 129 million searches for TrackID in the year 2009."The Sony Ericsson range of Walkman phones has seen tremendous success since it was first launched in 2005 having sold more than 130 million handsets to date – and we are still seeing a great appetite from consumers. Today’s announcement aims to satisfy this demand by making the Walkman phone range available to a wider audience,"  said Peter Ang, Vice President, Marketing, Asia Pacific region, Sony Ericsson.The key features of Sony Ericsson Zylo phone include a 3.5 megapixel camera with geo-tagging and voice call, a 2.6 inch wide screen and up to 16GB of storage via a MicroSD card. The Zylo device comes integrated with Facebook and Twitter. You can also share your photos to Flickr and Picasa, or upload videos to YouTube directly from the phone. The Zylo phone will be available in Jazz Black, Chacha Silver and Swing Pink colours.The Sony Spiro phone packs a 2 megapixel camera, a 2.2 inch screen, up to 16GB of storage and Bluetooth. The device features built in chat via SMS and easy to read conversation bubbles. The Spiro will be available in Contrast Black, Sunset Pink, Spring Green and Stealth Black colours.The pricing details of these devices are not disclosed but the Sony Ericsson Spiro and Zylo are expected to hit the shelves in Q3 2010.
