Nokia starts pre-booking of its 5800 XpressMusic phone in India, like Apple had done for iPhone but lets hope Nokia does not face the same fate like the iPhone maker here

The Finnish handset maker Nokia has recently floated a website for the pre-booking of its much-hyped music series phone 5800 XpressMusic. In November the company had launched the phone in India and had announced of its commercial availability sometime in December end or early January. The 5800 XpressMusic is the company's first full touchscreen device running on S60 platform. The recently floated website asks for the contact details of the prospective customers and the phone is believed to be made available through the company's Priority Dealer network. It seems like Nokia is following the footsteps of Apple to estimate the demand of the phone in the market. The iPhone company had also made the same arrangements prior to its launch in India. The Apple website saw more than two lakh pre-bookings but the high price quoted by the company for the product saw more than 50% back tracked at the time of purchase. However, unlike Apple's iPhone, the price of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is known to people. The handset is priced at Rs 19,999 and is believed to be pretty reasonable.
