Sharp Corporation, one of the leading Japanese cell phone makers, has recently announced the launch of a 3D touchscreen LCD, which is switchable between 2D and 3D modes. The 3D touchscreen panel features the industry’s highest brightness and low crosstalk and the best part is that users do not need special glasses to to view the 3D images. Ideal for sophisticated mobile devices such as smartphones, Sharp's 3D LCD will offer improved image quality with its advanced CG-Silicon technology and optimization of the parallax barrier. Also, significant advances in CG-Silicon technology have doubled the brightness compared to the conventional model.The latest 3D LCD touchscreen module will come with same thickness as that of the conventional 2D displays. Furthermore, the touchscreen panel will offer 3D images that can be displayed in both portrait and landscape screen orientations. Reportedly, Sharp will start shipping 3D LCDs in the 3rd Quarter of 2010.
