Samsung's new projector phone is not the same smartphone that the company announced during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2010. Remember Samsung Beam (i8520) aka Halo that promises a 3.7 inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen display to support for a DLP pico projector. While Samsung Halo is slated for Q3 launch, the company has meanwhile unveiled another projector phone - Samsung AMOLED Beam (SPH-W9600).Samsung AMOLED Beam features a 3.3 inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, a screen that is reportedly 1.5 times brighter than its predecessor, the Samsung Haptic Beam. The device sports a 9 lumen’s projector which can project images up to 50 inches. It further allows users to project and share videos, games, and pictures. In addition to this, users can also use the device for presentations. The other key features of Beam include a 5 megapixel camera, a terrestrial DMB TV tuner, HSDPA, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and a front facing camera. This compact projector phone offers Microsoft Office and DivX codec support for convenient use. Samsung Beam comes preloaded with 11GB of built in storage and it also supports microSD card slot up to 16GB.Samsung AMOLED Beam SPH-W9600 will go on sale for 900,000 won ($806) via KT.
