Google has now officially unveiled Nexus S with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) icing in collaboration with Samsung

The much anticipated Google Nexus S smartphone, successor to Nexus One, features the latest Android OS version 2.3 aka Gingerbread. The Nexus S comes with the integration of best hardware and software to highlight the latest advancements of the Android platform.The NFC-enabled device packs 4-inch Super AMOLED contour display, 5 megapixel rear camera with a front facing VGA camera, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, 720p HD video playback, 1500mAh battery and 16GB of internal memory. With the latest Android version, the handset offers UI refinements, NFC support, a new keyboard and text selection tool, Internet (VoIP/SIP) calling, improved copy/paste functionality and gyroscope sensor support.Samsung-branded Google Nexus S is scheduled for December 20 release in the UK via The Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy for around £549 SIM-free or free from £35 a month on contract.The Nexus S will be launched first in US on December 16 for $529. However, there's no official word on Google's plan to bring its new device to this part of the world.
