Samsung has released a rugged handset Samsung Xcover (E2370) which offers a standby time of 67 days to the users

Unveiled earlier at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2010) this year, Samsung has now launched Samsung Xcover, a rugged mobile phone certified with IP54 rating, which simply means that the device is tough enough to withstand dust and water. Ideally meant for the Indian climate and users, the USP of this device is its super durable 2000mAh battery power. The battery backup of this device boasts of a standby time of 67 days or more than 2 months. Simply put, users of this handset can enjoy almost a day's talk time (up to 22 hours) and up to 2 months (1,600 hours) talk time in a standby mode.On the spec front, Samsung Xcover comes equipped with a 128×160 pixel TFT screen display, VGA camera and FM radio. Preloaded with 5MB internal memory, the device comes enabled with Bluetooth, GSM/EDGE connectivity, up to 2GB memory via microSD slot, music player and flashlight with a dedicated button.While India awaits eagerly for this durable Samsung Xcover phone's launch, the device will be initially released in the Swedish market starting July at a price point below 100 Euros.
