Samsung has launched an affordable 3G-enabled touchscreen device Samsung Monte in India

Samsung Monte (GT - S5620) had been making news since its leaked images surfaced online couple of months back. However, the device got the official confirmation at the MWC 2010. 'Monte' is a translation of word 'mountains' in Italy, Spain and Portugal.It seems like Samsung is now temporarily shifting its attention to mobile phones other than its phenomenal Corby series devices. We saw the launch of Samsung Metro 3G, Duos Touch, Jet 2 and Galaxy Spica in the recent times. And now the company has announced another mid-range 3G touchscreen device Samsung Monte in India.Featuring Samsung's TouchWiz 2.0 UI, the tech specs for Samsung Monte suggest a 3 inch capacitive WQVGA touchscreen LCD with 16:9 aspect ratio, a 3.5mm handsfree port and MicroSD card support (up to 16GB). Samsung Monte phone comes equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera with geo-tagging, face recognition and smile detection features. Samsung S5620 Monte will offer 200MB of internal memory. The device is enabled with HSDPA, GPS, WIFi and 3G support with EDGE/GPRS.Loaded with SNS and IM services, the 3G handset features Smart Unlock, Exchange ActiveSync and Google Sync. The other tech specs for this device include Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, USB (micro), GPS with A-GPS support and Samsung's DNSe for music. Samsung Monte (Gt - S5620) is approximately priced at around Rs. 8,850 in India.
