
MWC 09: Nokia unveils E55 Qwerty Smartphone

Nokia lovers in India got a new reason to cheer as the Finnish telecom major introduces the new the new E55 at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress, aiming to build on the success of its Eseries

Nokia has expanded its Eseries range with the the E55 at the MWC 09. The E55 features a Qwerty keyboard in the latest trendy candy bar style. The device also comes with a 3MB camera, Nokia Maps, Bluetooth, 2Gb memory with an expandable slot and weighs in at just 3.36 ounces. The E55, like the E75, will feature Nokia Messaging. Nokia's Messaging service has direct access to Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes which Nokia says will mean people will no longer need to boot up a PC to get the full desktop email experience. Though the India availability of the E55 is unknown but it is expected to be priced at Rs 21,000.
