As India awaits the launch of Corby Pop, yet another Corby model has marked its surprise entry. Like all the existing Corby devices, the latest entrant, dubbed as Corby Speed, will be targeting the youth segments in India. And the USP is going to be its "Hi Speed Connectivity". This latest handset promises data speed up to 2.4 Mbps for Hi Speed Internet surfing and downloads. Basically, a CDMA variant of S3650, Corby Speed is powered by Open Market Handset (OMH) tech, that allows consumers the preference over choosing or changing an operator. Simply put, this latest Corby Speed CDMA phone can work with any of existing CDMA operators who support OMH SIM cards. That means Corby Speed can be attached with leading mobile operators, such as, Tata Indicom, Reliance Mobile, MTS and Virgin Mobile.Hendrick Lee , Vice-President, Mobile Division, Samsung India Electronics Ltd., said, "With the launch of the Corby Speed model, we are targeting the youth and young professionals who are looking for hi speed internet surfing, faster downloads, quick access to SNS and Instant messaging on their phone. The launch of this phone with OMH technology gives consumers the flexibility of choosing/changing an operator at his/ her will at any point in time."The key features of Samsung Corby Speed include: Hi Speed Connectivity Expressive design Instant Communities Easy Widget access to sites Enhanced SNS One finger zoom 8GB Micro SD card Samsung Corby Speed will sport three trendy colored jackets (yellow, black and white) and it will be available for sale at a price of Rs. 10,400. Samsung also announced the arrival of two new handsets on the Corby Speed launch occasion - Mpower Muzik 219 and Dual-SIM Duos 259, which is slated to be launched in early January 2010As . The MPower Muzik 219 will be available at a price of Rs. 3599 and the Duos 259 will cost Rs 8350 in the Indian market.
