Apple's senior vice president of industrial design, UK-born Jonathan Ive could be heading back to the UK without Apple's support. According to the Sunday Times, Ive wants to move back to the UK where his sons can go to school and he can spend more time with his family. Ive was responsible for the design of the iPhone and iPad, as well as other iconic Apple devices including the iPod and MacBook Pro. A family friend told the Sunday Times, "they have told him in no uncertain terms that if he headed back to England he would not be able to sustain his position with them". If Ive leaves the US-based company, he will receive a tasty £25million in shares, according to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Neither Ive nor Apple has commented on the rumour.
